The MBA2004 Student Group from CKGSB visited Hongkong Monetary Authority on Aug 31st, 2005. 

Established in April, 1993, HKMA is Hong Kong’s central banking institution. It has four main functions: maintaining the stability of HK dollar, promoting the safety of HK banking system, managing the HK official reserves, and maintaining and developing HK financial infrastructure.
 

This institution occupies the upper part, from the 55th floor to the top floor, of the highest building in Hong Kong, the International Finance Center, implying its special status in HK financial system. HKMA is also famous for its outstanding performance during the Asia Financial Crisis of 1997 and Mr. Yam’s（任志刚，the Chief Executive of HKMA）surprising high salary, over 10 million HK dollars per year.
 

In its exhibition room, the MBA students received a very detail and professional introduction of HK currency evolution history, the production process of HK banking notes and the day to day operation of HKMA.
